Finally, we can see the front of the house

It's been 3 months and 2 weeks , I am finally back home in Melbourne. It's cold and raining , normal winter day.

My french house has so many trees every where, the previous owner didn't like to trim the trees and the house was empty for almost 6 years before we purchased.

The renovation started from last year November.
The house is getting total make over at the moment.

There was a two tree in front of the house which impossible to see the front of the house.
My hubby and I decided to cut the trees so we could have more light in the living room and dining room. It was a good decision as a matter of fact.

This is the old photos of the house . the photo must be taken a long time ago.

This is the photos of over grown trees in front of the house.
Mr. Vincent, our care taker for the garden, is cutting the trees.

One down and one more to go

We had to use heavy machinery to dig out the huge roots.

It's much better without the tree.

Now, I can clearly see the house from the garden.

I am going back to France in September to finish the renovation. It is good to be home but Can't wait to go back. I miss my house in France.

Have a wonderful day where ever you are

French Antique Shopping

French Antique is something I am very passionate about. I don't know why I am love old, not perfect and previously loved objects.

I don't know what's around my little french village yet but found some antique shop near the village.

I wish I could buy whole store but just have to look at them and admire them for a while.

Have a good day wherever you are.

A Little French village near my house

Wow, it's already February.
I will be leaving to France middle of next month.

I left my heart in France, no wonder I am not doing well (lol)

I love the architecture of Maison de Maitre (Master's House ) , most of this kind of house is in the centre of the village. We were lucky to find our house in a quite setting.  My house is sort of middle of nowhere that's why we love it more.

Here is the village where I buy my baguette and butter.
This little village has everything I need.

I can't wait to pay a visit.

Bonne Journee.

What's happening in my French house?

It's been a while I updated my poor neglected blog. I was came back from France about 2 and half months ago. I am going back in middle of March to check on the renovation.  I am happy to go back to my house in France but 23 hours flights from Melbourne to Paris is a bit too much these day, not to mention about 3 hours driving from Paris to my house.

Here are some photos from my last visit.

Sun is setting and lights on.

I also managed to buy most of the bedroom furniture.

I was very luck to find this original Louis bedroom set, including matching Armoire , two bed side table (according to the antique shop owner, this kind of bed only come with one side table)

Another Louis Bedroom set.

wondering about in the temporary living room.

I can't wait to go back but there will be so much to do.  so much painting to do, not to mention wall paper has to come off first. 4 bath and shower room to be renovated, Septic tank need to be replaced.  Whole house being rewired at the moment, and the kitchen is totally gut it out for face lift.
